Postgraduate Programs

Neue postgraduate Studiengänge werden ab 2010 über 2 Jahre gehen.

University of Wollongong changes to 2-year postgraduate programs from 2010

UOW will be making changes to some of its Masters courses registered with CRICOS as 2-year programs.

These changes will be effective for students commencing in 2010.

This is required following advice from Government authorities that the definition of "full-time study" requires that all courses must be registered with a load of at least 24 credit points (4 subjects) per session.

This will affect courses or course packages which UOW has previously been permitted to register as 72 or 84 credit points over two years.

A document summarising the courses which will change from 2010, and the alternative course options available, is attached.

We recommend that you print this document and take the time to read through the course changes and new options for students in study areas including accountancy, business, engineering, information technology and science.

Full details of the revised programs will appear in the 2010 International Postgraduate Course Guide will be available in the coming weeks.

These changes will only apply to students commencing one of the affected courses from 2010.  Currently enrolled students and those who commence in Spring (July) Session 2009 can complete their course as per the existing course structures.

From Monday 18 May, our admissions staff will be issuing revised offer letters to students who hold offers for affected courses commencing in 2010. Students will be offered the same course over a shorter duration, or a revised course containing additional subjects over a two-year period.
